My Mother; The “Yes” Man
My mother’s weekend ritual of thrift stores & estate sales has always been a staple in our home. When my siblings & I were young, we’d drag our feet and hope the morning would end with a dozen donuts. The older I got, the more I wanted to tag along. Through these mornings with her, I fell in love with the thrill of a good thrift find & all things vintage. While she has hugely influenced this portion of my life, the greatest gift my mother has given me is often knowing me better than I know myself. When there is a dream to dream her answer is always, “yes”. She is the ultimate encourager. My mother pushes us to work hard, embrace risk & change, consider debts last & love each day. She is one of a kind, she is hardworking; & she is the reason I’ve had the courage to create Old Man Vintage.
When I grow up I want to be a lot like you, Old Lady.
